Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our clients mental health team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, promoting independence, recovery, and wellbeing.

As a senior member of the team, you will also take on leadership responsibilities, supporting junior staff and ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and emotional support to service users with a range of mental health needs
  • Develop and implement person-centred support plans
  • Lead shifts and coordinate day-to-day service delivery
  • Support, mentor, and supervise junior support workers
  • Administer medication in line with policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies
  • Promote safeguarding, dignity, and respect at all times

About You

  • Previous experience in a mental health support role (essential)
  • Experience in a senior or supervisory role (desirable)
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
  • Strong understanding of mental health conditions and recovery approaches
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
  • A commitment to person-centred care and inclusion
