We are currently recruiting an experienced Care Assistant to support a 1:1 package in Wareham for a female client living with dementia.
This is a community-based role, so we are looking for someone who enjoys getting out and about, supporting people to remain active and engaged. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this position.
This package is currently covered by two regular carers, and there is also the potential for the role to develop into a live-in package in the future for anyone who may be interested.
The role will involve:
- Supporting the client at home and out in the community
- Promoting independence, emotional wellbeing and daily routine
- Providing practical and emotional support
- Managing and appropriately de-escalating behaviours that may challenge
- Following care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
- Working closely with the wider care and clinical team
- Maintaining professional boundaries at all times
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in a care or support role
- Experience supporting people living with dementia
- Confidence working on a 1:1 basis
- A calm, compassionate and proactive approach
- Strong communication and observational skills
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
