Reception Teaching Assistant – Early Years | Haringey (September 2026 Start)
Are you a caring and motivated Teaching Assistant with a passion for Early Years education?
We are excited to be working with a friendly and inclusive one-form entry primary school in Haringey, who are looking to appoint a committed Reception Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

Role Overview
Position: Reception Teaching Assistant (Early Years)Start Date: September 2026Location: Haringey, North LondonHours: 08:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to FridayContract: Full-time, full academic year
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will support the class teacher in delivering high-quality early years provision and help create a positive start to school life for all pupils. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the delivery of engaging, play-based learning aligned with the EYFS framework
- Supporting children across all areas of development, including communication, social skills, and early learning
- Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce key skills
- Helping to maintain a safe, stimulating, and well-organised learning environment
- Contributing to observations and assessments of children’s progress
- Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting children’s emotional wellbeing
- Providing additional support for pupils with varying needs, including SEN where required
- Supporting daily routines, classroom organisation, and preparation of resources
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience working within Early Years or a Reception setting
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the EYFS framework
- Be warm, patient, and enthusiastic in their approach
- Show initiative and confidence when supporting learning
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Have strong communication skills and a positive attitude
