Summary of Role

As a Senior Consultant in our Reporting and Disclosure team, you will be client-focused, project managing and supporting projects that help organisations communicate their progress on sustainability. You will be an experienced writer with knowledge of how reports are organised and designed, and you will be meticulous on details.

In addition, you will support our long‑term growth by contributing to the development of our market proposition and business development initiatives.

Senior Consultants are typically line‑managed by a Principal Consultant or an Associate Director. While you will not always be working on projects with your line manager, their role is to help guide, support and manage your performance and growth at Anthesis.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities fall into three major areas:

Client & Project Delivery – 80% of time

  • Project Management – manage the delivery of agreed consulting engagements / projects on time, on budget, and to high standards of quality.
  • Deliverable Drafting & Presentation – prepare and deliver high‑quality reports, presentations, and workshops in line with project scope.
  • Report Messaging and Editorial – develop key messaging and positioning for reports, review tone of voice, structure and flow, edit content, and work closely with our in‑house design team to ensure designs and narratives work together.
  • Expert Input and QA – review project work and provide expert viewpoint and quality assurance on deliverables.
  • Client Relationship Building – earn the confidence and trust of client teams, and represent our direct clients’ interests effectively inside their organisations.

Business Development – 10% of time

  • Service Development – contribute to the development of our reporting service offering and/or streamline and improve existing service offerings.
  • Key Account Development – help guide and support deeper and longer‑term partnerships with valuable and impactful clients over time.
  • Proposal / Bid Writing & Presentation – discuss, frame, design, price and present project proposals (with guidance and support from colleagues).
  • Thought Leadership & Marketing – support the team and wider business in lead generation and brand‑building through the creation of IP and marketing materials.

Organisational & Personal Development – 10% of time

  • Training & Personal Development – use the ACE (Anthesis Centre of Excellence) learning and development platform, guided by your line manager.
  • Strategic & Organisational Initiatives – contribute to important internal initiatives and innovation.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in reporting consulting or an agency, or 5+ years in‑house in a related organisational function/field where report writing was part of the role.
  • Experience of Sustainability Reporting is essential.
  • Confidence in talking to CFOs and financial professionals in client organisations.
  • Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to the dynamic, fast‑moving sustainability reporting sector.
  • Good working familiarity with MS Office Suite is required, with high levels of numeracy and good Excel skills preferred.
  • Understanding of ESG data‑collection platform landscape and experience implementing data systems with clients or in‑house is desirable.
  • Previous experience with CSRD reporting/preparation, sustainability assurance and/or running Double Materiality Assessments in‑house or for a client is desirable.
