Payroll Job

This is a part‑time payroll job where you’ll take full responsibility from day one. The business currently outsources payroll but is now ready to bring it in‑house properly. That means the role will include setting things up, making sense of complexity, and owning it end‑to‑end. There’s a mix of shift patterns, overtime, and multiple geographies, so you’ll need to be confident reconciling data across systems and making sure everything ties up.

If you like being the go‑to expert and having control over your own area, this payroll job has full autonomy with the option to work from home for a large proportion of your time providing you remain a presence in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bringing payroll in‑house and establishing processes
  • Processing monthly payroll including overtime and shift patterns
  • Reconciling payroll data against time & attendance systems
  • Managing payroll for multiple locations (UK and overseas exposure beneficial)
  • Handling HMRC submissions and statutory requirements
  • Producing monthly payroll reports and analysis
  • Acting as the main point of contact for payroll queries

Requirements

  • This is a stand‑alone payroll job, and so it is essential you have the experience running payroll end‑to‑end with final sign off, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • You must have strong Excel skills; comfortable reconciling multiple data sources making use of pivot tables and lookup functions.
  • Experience working with complex payroll is required – multiple shift patterns, overtime etc.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate with autonomy and confidence.
  • Experience with international payroll is beneficial but not essential.
