Turner & Townsend is seeking Commercial and Procurement Managers in the UK Defence sector to support Defence clients across the public and private sectors. The role involves direct client engagement and end‑to‑end commercial lifecycle support.
Responsibilities

- End‑to‑end contract management.

- Negotiation and continuous improvement.
- Governance and compliance with internal policy and legal frameworks.
- Business analysis and problem solving.
- Supplier relationship and category management.
About the Candidate
Ideal candidates possess a strong commercial/procurement background and are motivated to work in a high‑functioning team focused on delivering world‑class outcomes for Defence clients.
Required Experience and Skills
- Applied knowledge of procurement principles and practices, with experience in procurement, contract management, and/or contract placement (sourcing).
- Ability to identify and manage risk through procurement/commercial tools and strategies.
- Understanding and application of programme, portfolio, and project management tools.
- Supporting the delivery of procurement and tendering processes, applying commercial expertise and judgement appropriately.
- Proactive monitoring of supplier performance, using strategies to secure maximum value, motivate performance and drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Desirable Experience
- Background in Government Procurement processes, such as Single Source and Competitive.
- Knowledge and experience with NEC, FIDIC, and/or JCT contracts.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification(s) in Business, Procurement/Supply Chain Management, Law, Project Management or a similar relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Training or sufficient experience in Defence and Security Public Contracting Regulations (DSPCR), the Public Contract Regulations (PCR) and/or the Procurement Act 2023.
Working in Teams / Site Attendance
Turner & Townsend promotes hybrid working; employees should balance office and home life. The role will require approximately 60 % on client sites or Turner & Townsend offices, with flexibility based on business needs.
