About the role
As a Development Manager, you’ll lead development schemes from inception through to completion, ensuring they’re delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. You’ll manage a programme of projects that directly supports their mission to build new homes, working closely with internal teams and external partners throughout the process.
You’ll ensure full compliance with audit requirements and play a key role in the smooth handover of completed properties to operational teams. To succeed, you’ll need strong problem‑solving skills, a positive approach, and the ability to manage complex issues, competing deadlines, and diverse relationships.
The role is predominantly based in the East, with the chance to contribute to projects across their national portfolio.
Salary
The spot salary for this post is £60,074 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. If you’re still developing some of the skills or experience, you can start at a salary 5% or 10% below the spot rate, with clear support and progression opportunities to reach the full amount.
About you
- Proven experience managing residential development projects from inception to completion within the Affordable Housing sector.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing the handover of completed schemes.
- Strong working knowledge of key housing contracts (e.g., JCT, Development Agreements, land acquisition arrangements).
- Experience managing and coordinating external consultants.
- Strong financial management skills, with the ability to ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including working with external partners, communities, and local authorities, with the confidence to professionally represent the organisation.
