Night Shift – Fixed Term Zero Hour Contract from May to 30 October 2026 (£20.70 per hour + holiday pay)
About the role
Are you friendly, confident, and outgoing with plenty of enthusiasm and a can‑do attitude? If so, we have an excellent fixed term (May-October 2026) opportunity for a Night Duty Manager to join our Property Division Guest Accommodation Operations Team.
You will be joining the Team for a six-month, fixed term appointment on a zero‑hour contract to provide a wide range of tasks supporting the running of our Guest Accommodation within Princes Gardens at our South Kensington Campus during the summer vacation period.
What you would be doing
You will take responsibility for the overnight operations and administration of our Guest Accommodation at Princes Gardens Halls of Residence, acting as the senior point of contact during nighttime hours. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth service delivery and maintain high standards of customer care during your shift.
Your key responsibilities include managing overnight enquiries to the guest email account, resolving escalation queries in person and by telephone, and acting as the escalation point for Team Leaders and the Reception Team. You will ensure that complaints and service issues, whether received face to face, by phone, or via email, are handled promptly and professionally, with clear handovers where required.
You will prepare for next day bookings and arrivals, complete overnight administrative tasks, and compile and distribute operational data as needed to support daytime teams.
Working closely with colleagues across the Property Division, you will provide practical advice and responsive support across departments. This role requires flexibility, sound judgement, and the ability to manage priorities effectively.

What we are looking for
- A‑Level or Equivalent
- Previous experience of office administration in a similar role within a pressurised team
- Previous experience of the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of colleagues and customers
- Experience in multi‑tasking and meeting tight deadlines
- Experience of using databases to store, manipulate and retrieve information
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, to present and deliver information in an appropriate manner
- Ability to handle confidential information with tact, discretion and diplomacy and an understanding of GDPR compliance
- Experience of managing recruitment of staff
- Be highly organised with an eye for detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, to build and maintain systems and processes
- Excellent computer skills with an understanding and demonstrable experience of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to adapt to new software in a timely manner
- Be enthusiastic, self‑motivated and an effective team player
- A flexible approach to working
