As a Postmaster & Partner Communications Specialist you will join us on our journey and undertake a valuable role reporting to the Head of Postmaster & Colleague Communications manager.
The Postmaster & Partner Communications Specialist is a key member of the Corporate Affairs division, responsible for the delivery of functional strategies, always modelling the Post Office behaviours and demonstrating a Postmaster and Partner first mindset.
Acting as an expert advisor, the Strategic Postmaster & Partner Communications Specialist will work closely with the Head of Postmaster and Colleague Communications to design and deliver a communications strategy that drives transparency, inclusive engagement and positive commercial outcomes. The Postmaster & Partner Communications Specialist will specialise in designing and delivering a data‑driven, digital‑first communications strategy exclusively for Postmasters, strengthening trust, clarity, and active engagement.
The role will lead crisis and transformation communications relating to Postmasters, key stakeholders, and own event and conference delivery to enable transparent two‑way dialogue. A key focus will be delivering the Re-setting Stakeholder Relationships pillar of the ABP by creating relevant, informative, and inspiring content that keeps Postmasters and Partners at the heart of the organisation’s priorities. They will drive a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance across their teams.

What you’ll need to succeed
Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience collaborating with peers and senior managers, to contribute to the development of, and deliver, a functional strategy to achieve business objectives.
- Substantial experience in establishing successful, cross‑functional, stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering projects to achieve key objectives
- Experienced in stakeholder or corporate communications with demonstrable digital‑first expertise (segmentation, analytics, KPI dashboards).
- Solid understanding of communication tactics, with the ability to tailor approaches to different audience needs.
- Awareness of commercial imperatives in a Limited Company environment.
- End‑to‑end event delivery experience (conferences, town halls) with measurable impact.
- Strong ability to craft and deliver messages for executive leadership and network/franchise audiences.
- Advanced use of AI‑enabled tools for content creation and insight generation.
- Degree‑level qualification preferable but not essential.
- Desirable: Crisis management experience advantageous
- Understanding of the external political and media environment and how that impacts postmaster and partner communications. Skills and Capabilities
- An enabler who can speak with knowledge and confidence in their subject matter, guiding their team to success.
- Excellent influencing and communication skills with the ability to utilise a range of techniques to deliver messages effectively, make an impact, and drive a successful outcome.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders to build support for functional plans and activity.
- Acts as an expert advisor, applying advanced knowledge of their own specialism as well as broad knowledge of related areas.
- Strong commercial business acumen and ability to make data‑driven business decisions.
- A track record of actively promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within all areas of responsibility and in particularly in Corporate Affairs function.
- Corporate, external, or internal communications experience, either from agency or in‑house, ideally within a corporate or organisational environment. Franchise experience preferable but not essential.
- Exceptional written communication and tone adaptation for diverse stakeholder segments.
- Strong organisational skills for multi‑event planning and crisis readiness.
- Ability to interpret and act on performance data to refine communication strategies.
- Expertise in accessibility and inclusive communication standards.
- Proficiency in AI‑enabled content tools and digital engagement platforms.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across complex issues. Stakeholders include postmasters, corporate partners, trade associations, executive leadership, the Board and the CEO
