We’re looking for a Head of Social Storytelling/Content Creator who is genuinely immersed in social culture. Someone who understands what connects with people on a real level; what sparks conversation, gets shared between friends, and builds community rather than just fills a feed.
We want to create content stories that feel authentic and sit naturally within the world of real people and their dogs.
This role is both strategic and hands-on. You’ll work closely with the Creative Director to bring Rocketo’s creative vision to life across social — translating brand direction into a clear content strategy, distinctive formats and repeatable series. You’ll be actively creating within that system too: concepting, shooting and editing high-performing content while building a structure that can scale.
You should be comfortable working with insight and performance data — interpreting metrics thoughtfully, spotting meaningful patterns and applying that understanding to evolve the strategy with nuance.
We’re not interested in posting for posting’s sake or jumping on trends once they’ve peaked. This is about building a recognisable, long-term body of work that people return to and that strengthens the brand every day.
Responsibilities
Creative Translation & Strategy
- Collaborate with the Creative Director to execute Rocketo’s overarching creative vision across social
- Translate brand direction into clear content pillars, formats and repeatable systems
- Build quarterly content roadmaps aligned to wider brand and business goals
- Ensure cohesion across organic, paid and campaign output
Content Creation & Production
- Concept, shoot and edit social-first content (particularly short-form video)
- Lead on-location shoots capturing dogs in natural, outdoor environments
- Develop recurring storytelling formats that can scale
- Direct UGC and creator partnerships while producing in-house content
- Maintain visual and tonal consistency in line with the brand system
- Mentor and guide junior social/production team members
- Provide clarity, structure and constructive feedback
- Uphold creative standards set at brand level while evolving execution
Performance & Optimisation
- Analyse performance beyond vanity metrics — focusing on true engagement and retention; saves, comments, shares and connection
- Identify patterns in what builds community and long-term loyalty
- Refine formats with intention rather than reacting to trends
Skills & Experience
- Proven senior-level experience leading social for a brand, with clear evidence of audience growth and community building
- Experience within CPG / DTC brands is highly desirable
- Deep understanding of what drives genuine connection on social — not just visibility, but conversation and loyalty
- Strong strategic capability: able to translate brand positioning into clear content systems, formats and series
- Demonstrable experience creating original storytelling formats rather than relying on trends
- Excellent short‑form video creation skills (concepting, shooting and editing)
- Confident interpreting performance data and applying insight to refine and scale content strategy
- Strong ability to understand and translate brand tone of voice into social-native storytelling
- Proven ability to translate overarching creative direction into a clear, effective social strategy and scalable content system
- Experience mentoring and leading social team members
