Role Overview

The main objective of the role will be to provide project support to the relevant Program Manager across a suite of Business and Technology driven projects. The required support will include end-to-end business analysis and project management support, with the likelihood of independently managing small projects.

  • The role holder will be responsible for the discovery phase of projects, carrying out relevant impact assessments and undertaking gap analysis to help shape and scope projects
  • Gathering detailed business and technical requirements from assigned senior stakeholders for various initiatives ensuring these are of sufficient granular detail and comply with Brooks Macdonald’s change framework
  • Discovery and requirements will be gathered either via running workshops or other methods ahead of walk through with appropriate stakeholders for review and approval as part of project planning
  • Ensure full traceability of end-to-end requirements through to solution, working collaboratively with their assigned PM and Testing Manager as required
  • The Analyst may, depending on the allocation of roles, be accountable for tracking the delivery of project benefits
  • The role holder will be highly driven, self-motivated with a relentlessness for process excellence, an exceptional communicator and will have a desire to exceed expectations consistently and as standard

Role responsibilities

  • Translating operational needs into functional and technical requirements
  • Document, analyse, challenge project requirements ensuring they are at the right level of detail and fully complete
  • Work with assigned Business Sponsor to walk through requirements ahead of sign off
  • Ensures a firm handshake with Technology & business teams as required, working closely with them to enable the right solution to be delivered and successfully tested
  • Facilitate workshops, define acceptance criteria, and manage the delivery backlog in Agile projects. Running demonstrations to gather feedback and drive user adoption involving multiple stakeholders
  • Ensure full end-to-end traceability of Requirements including testing
  • Assisting with the development of financial business case for projects
  • Ensure that requirements benefits are achieved (where appropriate)
  • Manages the project change control process in the unlikely event that requirements change or need amending
  • Provide project support in relation to relevant project governance and artefacts
  • Collaborate with other Business & Project Analysts across multiple projects

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Extensive (7+ years) Business analyst experience within financial services across a variety of project deliverables including product / App development and enhancement, digital and other technology projects (essential)
  • Preferably degree educated in a relevant field
  • Strong Communicator and has experience of running requirements gathering workshops (essential)
  • Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile change methodologies (essential)
  • Strong analytical, process improvement and stakeholder engagement skills (essential)
  • Team player with an ability to juggle multiple deliverables at any one time (essential)
  • Actively undertakes personal development to ensure up-to-date knowledge and understanding of best practices (essential)
  • Industry knowledge – Financial Services experience – particularly Wealth Management (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of JIRA (desirable)
