Tresmares Capital is a private capital asset manager operating from offices in Spain, the UK, and Germany, managing ~ €3bn in commitments across direct lending, minority/structured equity, fund finance and fund of funds. Tresmares’ primary focus is on capital solutions to firms operating in the lower middle market, and/or their private equity backers.
Role Description
This is a full-time, London-based role within the Direct Lending team at Tresmares Capital, with an opportunity to also gain exposure to other products including structured equity. The Investment Associate will play an integral role across the full investment lifecycle, including the evaluation and execution of private credit opportunities.
Tresmares run 2-3 strong deal teams, who operate under a flat structure, providing Associates with early responsibility and direct exposure to senior decision-makers and stakeholders – you will be expected to form a view and actively contribute to the investment screening, selection, underwriting, execution and portfolio monitoring.
Key responsibilities include analysing prospective investments, building and reviewing detailed financial models, conducting comprehensive due diligence, reviewing and providing input into commercial terms and related legal drafting, and preparing investment materials for internal decision-making. In addition, the role involves ongoing portfolio monitoring and providing assistance in the management of portfolio investments.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and financial modelling is a must.
- Experience conducting due diligence (e.g. commenting or establishing relevant scopes of work and finding ways to answer questions and test hypotheses) and a solid understanding of, or direct experience in, credit investing.
- Base knowledge of key commercial terms and the ability to input into decision‑making, structuring and risk mitigation for opportunities pursued.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience as a principal investor (ideally credit) and particularly in SMEs being highly desirable.
- High energy and ambition.
- Fluency in English is required; additional European language skills (Dutch or Nordic Languages) are a plus.
- Must have right to work in the UK.
- Willing to work 5-days in the office (London, Mayfair).
