Job Description:

The Housing & Homelessness Service is responsible for delivering a range of service functions, including statutory homeless service provision, temporary accommodation, housing register management, coordination of support for rough sleeping, commissioning of homeless services, and housing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and guidance to residents experiencing housing difficulties.
  • Assess homelessness applications and make legally compliant decisions.
  • Develop and manage Personalised Housing Plans to prevent homelessness.
  • Work with landlords, support agencies, and partners to secure housing solutions.
  • Maintain accurate case records and meet statutory timescales.
  • Deliver a high‑quality, empathetic and solution‑focused service.

Qualifications and Experience

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be conditional upon a satisfactory DBS check. All candidates must have the right to work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role. Knowledge of housing or homelessness legislation is advantageous but not essential. Strong communication, problem‑solving and organisational skills are essential. A motivated and customer‑focused attitude is required.
