Risk Manager

Our Client, a leading engineering and design consultancy, is seeking a Risk Manager to join their team in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, or Oxford.

Responsibilities of Risk Manager:

• Apply structured risk management practices to reduce uncertainty and exposure.
• Support the development and implementation of risk frameworks and systems.
• Facilitate workshops and work closely with project teams.
• Perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis using industry tools.
• Prepare clear, tailored risk reports for stakeholders.
• Contribute to improving risk processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Support bids, proposals, and wider business development activities.

Experience Required for Risk Manager:

• Degree, relevant qualification, or equivalent experience in risk management.
• Background in major infrastructure projects (e.g. transport, energy, infrastructure).
• Strong understanding of risk frameworks such as ISO 31000, IRM, or APM.
• Experience in risk workshops, risk reviews, and reporting.
• Familiarity with tools like ARM, Xactium, Primavera Risk Analysis, SafranRisk, @Risk, or Risk Predict!.
• Knowledge of value management and its application.
• Understanding of how risk links with project controls (cost, planning, contracts).
