Job Description

Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in the West Midlands for a Finance, Compliance, and Monitoring Officer to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will be required to act as a point of contact and expertise for the Programme Management team, advising project applicants on compliance and targets, and undertaking a wide range of activities to play a key role in supporting the in the delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial monitoring and reporting of funded programmes, including forecasting, budget profiling, and KPI tracking
  • Review and process financial claims, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and maintaining clear audit trails
  • Support project applicants and stakeholders with financial guidance, contracts, and compliance processes
  • Produce high-quality reports, briefings, and maintain accurate financial databases and monitoring systems

Candidate Criteria

  • Proven experience in financial monitoring, forecasting, or compliance within the public sector or similar environment
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, audit requirements, and external funding streams (e.g. government grants)
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and ICT skills, with high attention to detail
  • Ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders
