Senior Cost Engineer/Controller

Location: Brighton; Hours: 37 h/week Monday to Friday; Employment: Permanent; Salary: up to circa £60,000 plus benefits/bonus, hybrid working opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cost control and forecasting on key projects and forecasts aligned to project cost breakdown structure (CBS) and all in line with NEC contract conditions.
• Manage cost throughout the project lifecycle with detailed analysis of costs and assessing and monitoring changes in year and overall project Estimate at Completion (EAC).
• Update project forecasts to maintain an accurate and comprehensive Estimate to Complete (ETC).
• Produce monthly cost reports, including cost performance analysis, variances, trends, forecasts and contingency drawdown.
• Manage Earned Value Management (EVM) and Cost Performance Index (CPI).
• Conduct reviews of contractor cost reports and application for payments, working collaboratively with partners.
• Contribute to and support the Quantitative Cost Risk Analysis (QCRA) process.

Qualifications and Skills

• Have extensive experience of working in a cost management role within large-scale infrastructure of similar projects with knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Degree qualified (not essential) in a relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Quantify Surveying, Finance.
• Hold professional certification such as AACE, AMP, AcostE.
• Strong analytical and numerical capability.
• Experience of working within a regulatory framework.
• Expert user of Cost Management software such as Prism, Hexagon EcoSys, Excel.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to work closely with senior project leaders.
