Job Overview and Reporting Line

As a Commercial Analyst (Project Finance) at Tetra Tech International Development Limited, you will provide insightful analysis and strategic recommendations to drive business growth and operational efficiency. This role will work closely with the FP&A Manager, project finance team, business development team, project teams, practice directors and broader operational teams, making a difference to the business by monitoring and managing the financial performance. This role will report to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager.

Main Duties

  • Providing financial and commercial support by partnering with key stakeholders
  • Preparing and delivering regular forecasting and analysis
  • Managing the overhead reporting and identifying opportunities for cost improvements
  • Coordination of the bi-annual budgeting process, including development and improvement of the master pack
  • Coordination and review of the quarterly forecast – using your commercial acumen to question assumptions
  • Provide project accounting support as part of the wider project finance team
  • Providing commercial support and costings for business cases, tenders, and projects
  • Supporting project managers and the wider team with training, understanding key financial metrics and driving best practices
  • Ensure timely, accurate reporting with robust controls to prevent errors
  • Preparation and submission to the treasury of the cash flow forecast
  • Preparation and review of financial compliance reporting data
  • Provide support to improve internal systems and processes within finance and the wider business

Aptitude and skills

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about making a difference and working with qualified professionals in the International Development industry.

This role is perfect for a commercially astute professional looking to develop their career within a professional services environment, with a focus on wider impact.

  • Advanced experience with Excel and the ability to understand and use complex formulas or code
  • Technologically savvy, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate digital tools and software
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to coherently explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and analyse complex data from multiple sources
  • High attention to detail with well-established numeracy and financial modelling skills
  • A practical understanding of project management techniques

Qualifications

  • A degree in finance, economics or other relevant field

Several years of experience in commercial finance, finance or FP&A type role
