Financial Controller / Senior Management Accountant

My client is a fast-growing, multi-entity business and they are now looking to recruit a commercially aware Financial Controller / Senior Management Accountant to support the next phase of growth. This is a newly created, hands‑on position with real influence as you will lead the day to day finance function, working closely with the Managing Director and Non-Exec FD to build the foundations needed for continued expansion.

Responsibilities

• Producing monthly management accounts, budgets and cashflow
• Providing clear insight to support business decisions and growth
• Strengthening financial controls across multiple entities
• Managing year‑end, compliance and external relationships
• The day‑to‑day finance function including bookkeeping (with support to be recruited as the business grows)
• Leading migration from Sage to Xero
• Helping build and lead a finance team as the business grows

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or working towards). QBE will also be considered.
• Experience in a Financial Controller or Management Accountant role within an SME.
• Strong communicator, able to work closely with non‑finance colleagues.
• Friendly, practical team player who leads by example.
• Commercial mindset and confidence to challenge constructively.
• Comfortable operating in a growing, fast‑moving environment.
• Strong accounting systems experience (Xero/Sage ideal).
