Overview
This role is within the Prudential & Authorisations Team (P&A Team) where you will focus on prudential risk management for financial institutions, particularly banks and building societies. Key areas of focus include ICAAP/ILAAP, Recovery Planning, Basel 3.1, ESG, strong and simple regime, resolution planning and capital optimisation. The portfolio is growing and the role offers long‑term career progression for the right candidate in BDO’s rapidly developing advisory area.
Responsibilities
As a member of the P&A Team you will deliver complex prudential projects, collaborate with senior executives and partners, provide strategic advice on capital, liquidity and recovery planning, and identify opportunities to enhance client delivery and cross‑sell services. You will manage your tasks proactively, communicate regularly with senior executives, directors and BDO partners, and support clients in achieving their objectives.
Qualifications
- In‑depth prudential regulatory experience gained in the industry, consulting or as a regulator (or combination thereof);
- Strong technical knowledge of UK prudential regulation, ideally both capital, liquidity and recovery planning;
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects;
- Strong communication and report writing skills; confident speaker for training sessions and webinars to clients and colleagues;
- Excellent understanding of EU and UK financial services legislation, including UK CRR, CRD, PRS Rulebook and FCA Handbook.
