Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong Insurance domain expertise, specifically with subject matter expertise in 2 of the 6 areas:
- Policy lifecycle
- Quote → Bind →Issue → Renew → Cancel)
- Claims management
- Pricing & Underwriting workflows
- Billing & Premium Accounting
- Risk assessment & compliance
- Regulatory frameworks (FCA, PRA, Lloyd’s, etc)
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements; author clear user stories with acceptance criteria; define functional and non-functional requirements.
- Maintain traceability from requirements to test cases and releases; support prioritization and backlog refinement in Agile settings (Scrum/Kanban).
- Plan and support release activities including stakeholder communication, readiness, feedback capture, and post-release follow-up.
2. Process Mapping & Optimisation
- Map current-state and future-state processes using BPMN/Visio; identify bottlenecks, control gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with operations and technology to drive simplification, automation, and regulatory adherence across the value chain.
3. Data & Insights
- Analyse performance metrics, Work with data teams to ensure accurate metadata, reporting, and analytics across systems.
- Support decision-making with clear dashboards, business cases, and insights.
4. Technology & Systems Support
- Act as bridge between business SMEs and engineering/product teams across policy/claims platforms, underwriting workbench, billing, and CRM/finance systems.
- Conduct system evaluations, impact assessment, UAT, regression testing, and release validation; document outcomes and sign-offs.
- Awareness of DevOps toolchains and CI/CD workflows (e.g., Jira, Confluence; GitHub; Jenkins/Ansible; artifact and monitoring tools) to collaborate effectively with delivery teams.

5. Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitate workshops and interviews; translate business objectives into actionable requirements and product increments.
- Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders; manage expectations and risks; elevate impediments promptly.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- 6–8 years of Business Analysis experience, predominantly within Insurance.
- Strong domain knowledge in at least two: Policy Lifecycle, Claims, Pricing & Underwriting, Billing & Premium Accounting, Risk/Compliance, UK Regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Competence defining objectives and guardrails for AI-enabled workflows and enabling access to structured/unstructured data (documents, emails, forms, images, policy data).
Preferred
- Experience in process and digital transformation, workflow automation, and operating in global/matrixed organizations.
- Exposure to Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban) and London Market practices (Lloyd’s).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or MIS.
- Professional certifications preferred (e.g., Agile BA, Lean Six Sigma).
- Insurance credentials a plus: CII (Cert CII / Dip CII / ACII) and LMA courses for London Market roles.
