Real Estate Associate/Senior Associate | 6+ PQE | National Law Firm | Birmingham (Hybrid Working)
A top-tier national law firm is looking to recruit a Real Estate Associate or Senior Associate (6+ PQE) to join its expanding national real estate team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to handle high-calibre development work – with some exposure to real estate finance – while being supported by a collaborative and forward-thinking national practice.
The Role
You’ll be part of a high-performing real estate team involved in a broad spectrum of development and finance-led property transactions. This is a client-facing role offering significant scope for career progression, including opportunities to supervise junior team members and work closely with colleagues in planning, construction, corporate, banking, and litigation.
- Advising on the acquisition and disposal of residential and commercial development sites
- Drafting and negotiating development funding agreements, including forward funding arrangements
- Acting for lenders on real estate finance transactions, conducting due diligence and managing conditions precedent
- Supporting corporate transactions by advising on the property aspects of M&A deals, including share and asset sales
- Handling the sale and disposal of investment properties with occupational leases
- Drafting and negotiating leases on behalf of institutional landlords and tenants
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- 6+ years’ PQE in real estate, with strong experience in development transactions
- The ability to manage your own caseload confidently and supervise junior lawyers
- A commercial, solutions-focused mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams
- Enthusiasm for client engagement and business development
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
