The role
The Business Analyst role supports a wide-ranging programme of strategic initiatives— with IFS Cloud delivery as the primary focus initially. The role is central to improving operational efficiency, creating structured governance frameworks, refining CRIMS processes, and enabling digital transformation.
Ongoing communication, structured planning, and strong stakeholder engagement will ensure effective prioritisation and successful delivery across all upcoming projects.
IFS CLOUD DELIVERY
Platform Transition & Requirements
- Lead requirements gathering, documentation, and validation to support the transition from IFS Apps10 to IFS Cloud.
- Ensure business processes are clearly mapped and updated for Cloud readiness.
- Coordinate between technical teams and business users to minimise disruption and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Delivery Oversight
- Prioritise Cloud-related activities as the primary focus area for the upcoming period.
- Support configuration review, process testing, and gap analysis to guarantee successful deployment.
PROCESS MANAGEMENT & OPTIMISATION
Application Support & Knowledge Base
- Develop and maintain enhanced support documentation.
- Build a comprehensive knowledge base to ensure efficient, consistent issue resolution.
Internal Training Processes
- Create and improve training materials and structured training programmes.
- Support delivery of business-wide system training to improve adoption and usage.
IFS Cloud Solution Processes
- Review, document, and standardise processes within IFS Cloud.
- Identify opportunities for increased automation and efficiency.
Process Analysis & Design
- Lead cross-team analysis of operational processes.
- Redesign workflows to reduce inefficiencies and strengthen collaboration.
CRIMS (Configurations and Modifications within IFS)
Specification Process
- Refine and maintain the CRIMS specification process, ensuring requests are clear, complete, and aligned to business objectives.
Review & Validation
- Conduct structured reviews of submitted CRIMS items, assessing feasibility, business impact, and priority.
- Support accurate prioritisation and ensure alignment with the wider programme roadmap.
DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION & SYSTEM STRATEGY
IFS System Objectives
- Define both short-term and long-term goals for IFS Cloud adoption.
- Identify system enhancement opportunities and propose future-state recommendations.
Best Practice Benchmarking
- Research and compare IFS usage with industry best practices.
- Bring insights from successful implementations into the organisation’s roadmap.
DEVELOPMENT GOVERNANCE & PRIORITISATION
Business Change Review & Approval
- Establish and embed a structured evaluation process for all IT requirements.
- Create templates, workflows, and approval mechanisms to support data-driven decision-making.
Development Alignment
- Review all proposed system developments to confirm alignment with business objectives and compliance standards.
- Facilitate stakeholder validation and ensure that developments meet operational needs.
Prioritisation Framework
- Design a transparent model for prioritising enhancements and system changes.
- Provide clear communication of priorities to support planning and delivery.
SUPPORT & DOCUMENTATION
- Map business processes to support new developments and continuous improvements.
- Ensure all user documentation and training materials remain current and accessible.
- Support 2nd & 3rd line application support teams in resolving escalated issues.
Experience required
- Experience working with IFS Cloud or similar ERP platforms, with an understanding of core business modules.
- Relevant Business Analysis certifications, ideally BCS Foundation and Practitioner (or equivalent).
- Strong working knowledge of process mapping and design tools, including Microsoft Visio.
- Experience producing structured analysis outputs such as EPICs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Confident and proactive approach, with the ability to take ownership and drive progress across initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and maintain effective communication.
- Ability to support the delivery and rollout of new efficiency and optimisation initiatives across the business.
- High level of attention to detail, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency in documentation and process design.
- Strong team player who contributes positively to collaborative work while also operating effectively autonomously.
- Clear and professional communication skills suited to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
