Role Description

The Finance Manager position is offered on a full-time or part-time basis with some flexibility for remote work, who will lead our core transactional finance functions during an exciting period of transformation. This high‑impact leadership role oversees Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashflow, Banking, and Payroll.

Alongside running robust day‑to‑day operations, you’ll play a key role in process redesign, automation, and system improvements as we implement a new ERP/finance system.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Lead end‑to‑end AP and AR operations, ensuring accuracy, control, compliance, and efficiency
  • Oversee cashflow forecasting, liquidity management, and provide insight into working capital performance
  • Manage daily banking operations, including payment governance and treasury support
  • Oversee transactional month‑end close activities and support internal and external audits
  • Take ownership of the Payroll function, including transition planning and leadership
  • Ensure timely submission of audited accounts to Companies House and other relevant authorities.
  • Maintain accurate purchase and receivables ledgers, performing regular reconciliations of accounts, bank balances, and control accounts
  • Manage supplier payments, new supplier onboarding, and verify all transactions meet documentation, approval, and audit standards
  • Monitor aged payables and receivables, follow up on overdue balances and produce reports on cashflow and payment forecasts

Stakeholder & Query Management

  • Handle supplier and customer queries professionally, resolving issues through collaboration with internal teams

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Support and help lead the finance system transformation, including: process mapping, data cleansing, UAT, go‑live preparation and post‑implementation stabilisation
  • Identify and implement process improvements across AP, AR, and transactional finance to enhance efficiency, control and scalability

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with accounts payable/receivable
  • Ability to analyse financial data to provide strategic insights and support business decision‑making
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and financial risk management
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Advanced proficiency with financial software and tools such as Excel and accounting systems
  • Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with strong experience in statutory reporting and tax compliance
  • Experience with Quantum or within the aviation spares industry, or alternatively within another complex, inventory‑heavy sector, is desirable
