Job Title: Neighbourhood Housing Officer
Location: Hybrid – office and on-site visits
Role Summary:
The Neighbourhood Housing Officer manages council properties and supports residents to sustain their tenancies. They ensure estates are safe, well‑maintained, and thriving communities while addressing tenancy issues, anti‑social behaviour, and lease management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out estate inspections and monitor repairs, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Support tenants to sustain tenancies and prevent homelessness.
- Advise residents on rent, benefits, and housing services.
- Address breaches of tenancy, anti‑social behaviour, and subletting issues.
- Work with residents and community groups to improve local neighbourhoods.
- Maintain records, prepare reports, and liaise with colleagues, councillors, and partner agencies.
Requirements:
- Experience in social housing, tenancy, or leasehold management.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in the community and office.
- Knowledge of housing law and local housing policies.
