Company: The Griffin Insurance Association Limited
Apply for the Risk Manager
Location: Greater London
Job Description:

Griffin is looking for a Risk Manager to play a key role in planning and delivering our Risk Management Programme, supporting insurance intermediaries across the UK and internationally.

Griffin provides professional indemnity insurance to its Members – insurance brokers and MGAs. Our Risk Management team works closely with Members to ensure their systems and procedures effectively manage professional indemnity risk within their businesses. Through structured reviews, practical guidance, and training, we help reduce exposure to claims and strengthen risk frameworks.

This is an opportunity to work at the heart of the insurance market, engaging directly with senior leaders and contributing to a respected, market-facing risk management function.

Your Responsibilities

You will help raise Members’ awareness of how professional indemnity exposures arise and provide practical, actionable guidance on how these risks can be effectively managed.

  • Conducting Risk Management reviews of Members and prospective Members (remotely and in person, in the UK and overseas).
  • Preparing or peer reviewing post-review memos for internal circulation, summarising key observations, progress since previous reviews, and outcomes of end‑of‑review meetings.
  • Preparing or peer reviewing draft Risk Management reports detailing observations and recommendations.
  • Finalising reports following Member feedback, analysing responses and determining any required amendments.
  • Providing ad hoc liability advice to Members concerned about potential professional indemnity exposures outside of the review process.
  • Contributing to the planning, development, and implementation of Griffin’s Risk Management Programme and strategic framework.
  • Preparing and delivering Risk Management training sessions, seminars, and workshops (both remote and in person).
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across Risk Management, claims handling, and underwriting teams to share insights and best practice.
  • Staying up to date with market developments, legal updates, and regulatory changes that may impact Griffin’s advice to Members.
  • Promoting awareness of Griffin’s wider services, including liability advice, technical forums, and bulletins.
  • Contributing to the development and updating of Risk Management support materials, including Broker and MGA guidelines and Member communications.
  • Supporting the maintenance of Risk Management content on the Griffin website.
  • Undertaking other duties aligned with the scope and level of the role.

The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive and may be subject to change.
