Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a specialist land promotion and planning consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their growing team in Hatfield.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-regarded consultancy with a strong track record in delivering strategic land projects across the UK. The successful Town Planner will gain exposure to a range of residential-led developments, working on projects from early-stage promotion through to planning approval.

The Role

As a Town Planner, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of strategic land and planning projects, working closely with colleagues, landowners, and stakeholders.

You will be involved in all stages of the planning process, from site identification and appraisal through to the preparation and submission of planning applications, while developing your expertise within a focused and commercially driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the promotion of land through the local plan process
  • Preparing and managing planning applications and appeals
  • Undertaking site appraisals and planning feasibility assessments
  • Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation
  • Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
  • Supporting senior team members on strategic projects
  • Attending site visits, client meetings, and consultations

Candidate Requirements

  • RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Experience within a planning consultancy or similar environment
  • Good understanding of UK planning policy and legislation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive and commercially aware approach
