What You’ll Be Doing

In the Space, Range and Location Analytics team within the UK’s leading pharmacy‑led health and beauty retailer, we design, develop and deliver data, models and insights that enable our customers to get what they want, where and when they want it. Our award‑winning team integrates across all parts of the business. If you are great at analytics and love retail and healthcare, you will have plenty of opportunities to make an impact. We have 1,900 stores and a significant online presence, and our purpose is to help our customers look and feel better than they ever thought possible.

We need someone who can translate complex analytics into clear insights and principles. Your role will focus on Location and Range analytics, building geospatial data exploration and tooling capabilities to support Boots in implementing business solutions driven by analytical thinking and capability.

You will be supported by a diverse team of experienced peers and leaders as you meet the evolving requirements of the retail and pharmacy analytics environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • You’re comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • You’re excited by taking on responsibility and look to create value from data, producing insights and tools that solve business problems.
  • You have relevant previous experience or a degree with quantitative elements (e.g. statistics modules), such as Math, Physics, Geography, Data Science, Psychology.
  • You have an interest in GIS (Geographic Information Science) principles.
  • You have stakeholder management experience – you can present complex results to less technical audiences.
  • You’re comfortable using programming languages including SQL, Python and R.
  • You can balance multiple projects effectively.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have

  • Experience using GIS software, especially ESRI and Alteryx.
  • A demonstrable record of delivering results in a commercial or academic environment.
  • Experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
  • The ability to deal well with ambiguity.
  • Expertise in working with large structured and unstructured data sets, preferably in Databricks.
