Building Services Engineering

We are seeking a Public Health Design Engineer on a 12‑month contract to support a range of complex and varied schemes.

Job Type: Contract – 12 months

Location: London – Hybrid

Background & Qualifications:

• MSc or BSc in Building Services Engineering Design, with Chartered Engineer status and professional membership of SoPHE are desirable.
• Expertise in Public Health Design Engineering, covering domestic hot and cold water services, soil, waste, rainwater drainage, and both above and below ground drainage.
• Experience with rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, solar hot water, and innovative design solutions is advantageous.
• Proven experience in commercial (new build, refurbishments, and fit‑out), residential, and mixed‑use developments from concept to detailed design.
• Strong knowledge of Building Services Engineering Systems, including their performance, application, and operation.
• A proactive, adaptable, and approachable engineer with excellent client‑facing and communication skills, demonstrating initiative at all levels.

Skills:

• Strong technical expertise through client presentations, building trust and fostering relationships both internally and externally.
• Review calculations, specifications, and drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
• Apply technical skills to successfully deliver complex projects while providing expert guidance to promote innovation and creativity.
• Communicate effectively with senior clients and stakeholders, assessing project variations and recommending necessary adjustments.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork, knowledge sharing, and problem‑solving.
• Demonstrate leadership, strong organisational skills, and attention to detail to ensure project milestones are met and successful outcomes achieved.
