Overview

Our client, a well-established education provider, is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance its IT systems and digital learning environment.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on maintaining and developing a modern hybrid infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft cloud technologies. You will play a key role in ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing systems that support both staff and learners.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and support server and infrastructure environments
  • Administer and optimise Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and cloud-based platforms
  • Manage on-premise networking, including switching and routing
  • Provide 3rd line IT support across infrastructure, systems, and applications
  • Support integration of third-party systems and software solutions
  • Maintain and update system documentation and technical processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on IT projects
  • Provide day-to-day hardware, software, and network support
  • Ensure all systems are implemented and maintained with security best practices
  • Support digital services that enhance teaching and learning delivery

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Microsoft server environments and cloud infrastructure (Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Proven experience managing hybrid IT environments (cloud and on-premise)
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including switching and routing
  • Experience supporting platforms such as Apple, Adobe, and Google Workspace
  • Background in a customer-facing IT support environment
  • Ability to provide 3rd line support and troubleshoot complex issues
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft certifications (desirable)
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
