SPX Cooling – UK (Field-Based, North of England Focus)

SPX Cooling is looking for an Aftermarket Development Engineer to drive the growth of our UK service and aftermarket business. This is a field-based role offering autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to shape a key revenue stream within an established global business.
The Opportunity
This role is central to expanding our aftermarket presence across the UK. You will focus on identifying and developing service opportunities across both SPX and competitor equipment, helping customers improve performance, efficiency, and reliability.
With an established customer base and strong market reputation, the platform is already in place — now we need someone to take it further.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing and growing the UK aftermarket service business
- Identifying opportunities for inspections, maintenance, refurbishment, and upgrades
- Building relationships with end users, contractors, and water treatment partners
- Managing a pipeline of opportunities from identification through to quotation and close
- Supporting service growth across a wider HVAC portfolio including cooling towers, adiabatic systems, chillers, and ACC
- Conducting site visits and technical assessments across the installed base
- Collaborating with internal teams including Project Management and Technical Sales
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines technical understanding with commercial drive:
- Experience in HVAC, cooling systems, or water treatment (account management or sales preferred)
- Proven ability to generate new business while managing existing accounts
- Strong relationship-building skills with customers and partners
- Ability to identify opportunities within installed equipment
- Technical knowledge of cooling towers or similar systems (adiabatic experience advantageous)
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently
- Full UK driving licence
The Role Details
- Field-based across the UK (with a focus on the North of England)
- Ideally based within reach of Doncaster
- Approx. 60% travel
- Company vehicle
- Occasional flexibility required outside standard working hours
