Job Title: Construction Site Engineer – BESS Project

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This is a 12-month contract role starting ASAP, working outside IR35, and will be fully site-based overseeing construction activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring construction works are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with engineering specifications and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day site construction activities related to the BESS installation.
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers on site.
  • Ensure construction works are delivered in line with design drawings, technical specifications, and project standards.
  • Monitor progress against the construction schedule and report updates to the project team.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and site safety procedures.
  • Support site inspections, quality checks, and technical issue resolution.
  • Liaise with engineering, project management, and commissioning teams.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation and reporting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Site Engineer / Construction Engineer on infrastructure, energy, or power projects.
  • Experience with BESS, renewable energy, substations, or power infrastructure is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of construction management and site coordination.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.
