Paid £21.46 per hour (£22.21 from 1 Apr 2026). Bank 0 hr contract – shift as required. The role is in a 24‑bed nursing home located in Stourbridge.

About The Service

Hollybush House is a 24‑bed nursing home with two units: an 8‑bed Continuing Care unit for people living with dementia who require high‑level nursing care, and a 16‑bed Short‑Stay Intermediate Care unit providing step‑down care, hospital avoidance, and respite care for people living with dementia.

Key Duties

  • Ensure the highest possible standards of care through assessment of residents’ needs and wishes, and develop services to enhance their quality of life, in line with the NMC Code.
  • Champion appropriate independence and personal choice; develop, review and update care plans to meet physical, social and psychological needs.
  • Oversee all aspects of medication management on your shift—ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered, in accordance with company policies and current legislation.
  • Build the positive reputation of the business; liaise professionally with visitors and other external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and best‑practice guidelines—identify, investigate and resolve risks proactively.
  • Support, guide, teach and mentor others in line with the NMC Code, following its guidance at all times.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Ability to lead a team, analyse problems and propose solutions or improvements.
  • Effective communication and professional relationship building.
  • Proficient with IT and communication systems required for the role.
  • Respectful of the values, views and needs of others.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
  • Experience delivering nursing care within elderly health‑care sector.
  • Experience participating in quality and clinical governance programmes.
