The Newhaven Rehabilitation Team is a dynamic service made up of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Therapy Assistants working collaboratively to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred rehabilitation. We pride ourselves on providing integrated, holistic care to individuals with complex needs, helping them maximise their independence and quality of life.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our team. It is a small friendly unit with a supportive and skilled team. There is opportunity to work with a varied caseload and develop your clinical skills whilst having access to specialist therapists from across UHSussex.

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. Sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role‑specific criteria.

If you do not meet the sponsorship requirements, and you are applying using a Graduate visa as your right to work, you must have a minimum of 18 months remaining on your visa at the time of application.

  • Support the Clinical Team Lead Physiotherapist with day‑to‑day operational management of the Integrated Therapy Rehabilitation Team, assisting in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the therapy service.
  • Support the leadership of the team and deputise for the Clinical Team Leader if required.
  • Actively promote and develop equality and diversity practices and strategic management to promote equity of access for patients and staff.
  • As an autonomous practitioner, assess and treat a caseload of rehabilitation patients with complex and/or chronic presentations, and develop individualised rehabilitation programmes to promote recovery and independence without direct supervision from senior staff.
  • Be responsible for teaching, supervision, and appraisal of recently qualified physiotherapists, physiotherapy support workers, and undergraduate students, as well as providing teaching to MDT staff.
  • Undertake evidence‑based practice and participate in departmental research and audit.
  • Adhere to Trust policies and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Code of Conduct, Health Care Professions Council Code of Conduct, and national standards where applicable to develop departmental policies and best practice care.

Shift Pattern

This post includes responsibility for the provision of inpatient care and will be on a seven‑day a week working contract. The Rehabilitation service currently operates Monday to Friday.
