Foster Carers (various roles)
Salary: Up to A GBP 42,848 (made up of weekly skills payment + weekly allowances per child, tax‑free, depending on the age of the children).
We are looking for people who live in Salford or surrounding areas who have a spare room, who are passionate about improving children’s lives, who are aged 21 or over, and able to use their professional experience in a different, truly life‑changing way. We are looking for people with the heart, resilience, and skills to make a real difference in keeping local children within their local community.
Who we are looking for
- Ability to offer short term or long term fostering homes for local Salford children and young people aged 0–18 years.
- Ability to offer respite care in times of need.
- Care for sibling groups of 2 or more children where possible (individual placements also).
- People with SEN experience to provide specialist care to our complex children and children with additional needs.
We are actively recruiting foster carers who can care for children aged 0–18 years old in short term and long term fostering homes. We are looking for local foster carers who can look after a diverse range of children and young people, particularly older children and teenagers, brothers and sisters, and children with additional needs. We are looking for people who can demonstrate they have the time, availability, space, a spare room, and empathy to offer their home to a local Salford child or young person.
Our foster carers must be willing to work with a wide age range of children and need to be able to show commitment, understanding, and compassion to children during difficult times and help them to thrive. The role involves the overall daily 24/7 care of looking after a child or young person, taking children to and from education settings, arranging and attending appointments and meetings.
We also welcome applications from anyone who can care for sibling groups of 2 or more children, as we aim to place siblings together whenever possible to maintain bond and promote attachment.
We provide our foster carers with an excellent training, support and tax‑free financial package and benefits and will help guide them through the assessment process and work with them as a team to ensure the needs of the foster carer and the child are met.
We offer local discounts to our foster carers, tax advice, and local support groups where our carers receive peer‑to‑peer support from other foster carers in Salford.
Successful applicants’ appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre‑employment clearances, including a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
