Job Overview
We aim to support vulnerable children so that their social, emotional, intellectual, cultural and physical needs are met, and they are given the opportunity to reach their full potential. Successful candidates must demonstrate an ability to build effective working relationships with children, show good teamwork skills, communication skills and accurate record keeping. You will assess the needs of children visiting Evergreen Lodge for short breaks, plan, implement and review care plans alongside the staff team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain effective relationships with children.
- Assess and plan care needs for short‑break visitors.
- Collaborate with education, social work and health professionals to meet children’s needs.
- Support children through transition to future placements.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
- Work weekends, evenings and overnight duties (sleep‑in allowance applies). Shift patterns are typically 7:00‑11:00 am, 3:00‑11:00 pm, 2:00‑10:00 pm.
- Wear personal protective equipment when providing personal care.
Requirements
The post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013) and will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) application for a ‘disclosure’. Further information can be found on the ‘Our Recruitment Process’ tab.
