Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Residential Service

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £31,616 per annum plus sleep in allowance

Hours: Full time including evenings, weekends and sleep ins

Contract: Permanent

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 Children and Young People or equivalent or working towards Level 4
• Minimum 2 years’ experience within a children’s residential setting
• Experience supporting children with EBD, trauma and challenging behaviour
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to lead shifts and support junior staff
• Good IT skills and experience with care documentation

The Role

• Support the Registered Manager and Deputy in delivering high quality, child centred care
• Lead shifts, ensuring safe staffing levels and effective handovers
• Act as the responsible person on shift when required
• Support children with daily routines, independence and life skills
• Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
• Promote positive behaviour using trauma informed approaches
• Ensure accurate completion of care records, incident reports and safeguarding documentation
• Support with care planning, risk assessments and team meetings
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and homely environment
• Work in line with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes standards
