Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Residential Service
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £31,616 per annum plus sleep in allowance
Hours: Full time including evenings, weekends and sleep ins
Contract: Permanent
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Children and Young People or equivalent or working towards Level 4
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within a children’s residential setting
- Experience supporting children with EBD, trauma and challenging behaviour
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to lead shifts and support junior staff
- Good IT skills and experience with care documentation
The Role
- Support the Registered Manager and Deputy in delivering high quality, child centred care
- Lead shifts, ensuring safe staffing levels and effective handovers
- Act as the responsible person on shift when required
- Support children with daily routines, independence and life skills
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Promote positive behaviour using trauma informed approaches
- Ensure accurate completion of care records, incident reports and safeguarding documentation
- Support with care planning, risk assessments and team meetings
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and homely environment
- Work in line with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes standards
