Mechanical Fitter
Location: Wimborne, Dorset – Eaton Aerospace Division

Responsibilities
- Conduct required tasking within the MRO facility, including strip, survey, rebuild, and product acceptance testing of new and used product.
- Complete surveys and repairs in accordance with agreed practices.
- Apply quality principles and adhere to all regulatory procedures, defined processes, procedures, and technical data.
- Operate autonomously: carry out assembly, strip, survey, rebuild and test of product (subject to training) without supervision.
- Identify and drive productivity and performance improvement opportunities with team members.
- Implement lean manufacturing processes where applicable.
- Contribute to continuous development of the environment, health and safety (EHS) requirements within the work area.
- Progress personal development needs via the skills matrix, ensuring task flexibility and capability coverage.
- Meet or exceed defined objectives, monitoring progress through 1:1s and the interim and annual personal development reviews (PDRs).
- Participate in tier and team meetings to understand work scheduling, update targets, address key issues, and receive key communications.
- Proactively address challenges and appropriately escalated issues.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Experienced aircraft fitter with 10+ years of experience and broad product knowledge.
- Required: Ability to interpret technical data and demonstrable understanding of fuel systems, mechanical systems, and structural assemblies.
- Desirable: Apprenticeship, HNC or similar qualification.
- Preferred: Knowledge and/or experience of EASA/CAA PT145.
Skills
- Obtain and maintain approved operator stamp(s) with scope approval relevant to the job role.
- Understand lean methodology and principles.
- Complete tasks on-time and to the required standard.
- Minimise job card variances.
- Adhere to EHS requirements and maintain 5S principles of the area.
- Co‑operate with management to meet the employer’s legal duties and take reasonable care of health and safety for self and others.

The successful applicant will be in contact with US ITAR controlled technology, goods, and information. As a condition of employment, employees with access to US ITAR controlled technology and goods may be required to undergo additional screening.
