The Receptionist/Administrator is responsible for providing a high-quality, patient-focused reception and administrative service within the practice.
As the first point of contact, the post holder will ensure all patients and visitors receive a courteous, efficient, and professional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer incoming telephone calls, dealing with enquiries efficiently and appropriately
- Book, amend, and cancel patient appointments using the clinical system
- Register new patients and maintain accurate patient records
- Process prescriptions in line with practice procedures
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and letters
- Support clinicians and the wider practice team with administrative tasks
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times in line with GDPR and practice policies
- Manage patient queries and direct them to the appropriate service or clinician
- Ensure the reception area is kept tidy and presentable
