UTEC are looking to source an Onshore Senior Data Processor on a full time, permanent basis. Based at our EA Data Centre facility in Edinburgh, the Onshore Senior Data Processor will take on the responsibilities that lie in the processing, Quality Control, and management of all relevant acquired data, including but not limited to hydrographic and/or bathymetric data, as well as the production of associated client-defined deliverables. Onshore Senior Data Processor will also be responsible for establishing, monitoring, and maintaining a high standard of project deliverables in accordance with the Company quality systems, and to ensure the onshore data meets UTEC standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Surveyor and Project Manager in preparing field data for offshore use.
  • Review Project drawings and field reports.
  • Review specification supplied by related project & assist Project Managers in decision making.
  • Review field drawing and reports when received from the offshore crew.
  • Process offshore acquired data sets in office or remotely and produce deliverables using the Company’s selected processing software.
  • Ensure all final deliverables are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure all assigned onshore work is carried out in accordance with Company Standards and Project Specific Procedures.
  • Support Global Data Processing and Development Manager with development of Data Processing methodologies & work Instructions.
  • Support offshore field staff & remote processing staff with Data Processing QC and advice.
  • Supervise and assist onshore data processing team to prepare project deliverables.
  • QC data processed by onshore processing team and ensure it meets Company standards.
  • Train and mentor Trainee/Junior Data Processors.
  • Assist with archiving project data and maintenance of archive logs.
  • Assist in Remote Processing project setup.

Requirements

  • Degree in Geomatics, Surveying Science preferred;
  • Relevant industry experience or military/academic experience in survey related discipline, including relevant management experience;
  • Satisfactory Completion of the competence criteria for Data Processor Grade I if previously employed at this level;
  • Undertake agreed training and development to provide a framework of knowledge and skills required to perform effectively in UTEC;
  • Actively participate in UTEC Competency scheme;
  • Participate in performance appraisal with Line Manager identifying and agreeing personal development and action plans;
