Overview

Job Overview: The opportunity has arisen to join the friendly and established team on Ward 1 Care of the Elderly at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd hospital. Please note that we will only accept applications from staff currently employed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

Ward 1 is a busy 24-bedded dynamic and fast-paced Care of the Elderly ward that is passionate about delivering high quality patient care. The nursing team are proactive, innovative and have a wealth of knowledge in this specialist area. The ward collaborates with medical colleagues who have a wealth of experience in this field to support all acute medical care needs of our patients. A team-working approach is adopted to ensure safe practice, individualised care and a positive patient experience. The ward embraces the red to green/safer approach to care and has the support of the multidisciplinary team working alongside them.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated individual to join our nursing team. This is a demanding role that requires commitment, excellent communication skills, and high clinical standards with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike. The job is challenging and rewarding in equal measure.

Main duties of the job

  • Assist the registered nurse/practitioner to deliver a high standard of holistic patient care, ensuring that the patients’ dignity and equality is maintained at all times.

Essential criteria

  • Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice
  • Experience of working within the NHS
