We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our well established and highly respected team. As a Rehabilitation Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing clinical assistance and support to the team of qualified occupational therapists and physiotherapists. This will include carrying out activities of daily living, exercise programmes and issuing relevant equipment, ensuring the highest standard of patient care. You will be able to refer to the qualified therapists for guidance and supervision where necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the therapy team in providing a high standard of service to patients referred from a variety of settings, including supporting the multi-professional team in the assessment and implementation of treatment programmes and care plans.
  • Work with patients from all areas of the acute hospital including elective orthopaedics, musculoskeletal outpatients, surgery, medical, amputees, older peoples services and the stroke unit.
  • Under the supervision of an occupational therapist or physiotherapist, assist Health Care Professionals in the assessment and treatment of patients who may have complex and varying physical and psychological presentations.
  • Carry out agreed treatment programmes / care plans, at times working alone within the patient’s home.
  • Work under supervision with regular instruction, guidance, training and support; access to advice from an occupational therapist or physiotherapist is available as required. Work is routinely evaluated.
