About The Role
Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and dedicated Shift Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong technical ability and a passion for maintaining the quality, safety, and seamless operation of a luxury property. This role is five shifts per week, working during daytime hours as part of our core Engineering operation.
As a Shift Engineer, you will play an essential role in ensuring the hotel remains in excellent condition. You will support the Engineering leadership team in carrying out repairs, preventative maintenance, and operational duties across all areas of the property, helping us uphold the exceptional standards expected at Four Seasons.
What You Will Do
- Carry out a wide range of engineering and maintenance tasks across guestrooms, public areas, back‑of‑house spaces, and external areas.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, systems, and infrastructure to minimise downtime and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Respond quickly and professionally to guest and staff requests, providing high‑quality support and solutions.
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic repairs in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Support the upkeep of hotel facilities, ensuring all areas remain safe, functional, and presented to Four Seasons standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and highlight any larger issues to the Engineering leadership team.
- Collaborate closely with other departments to minimise disruption and maximise operational efficiency.
- Uphold all health, safety, and compliance requirements throughout the property.
- Participate in ongoing technical training and development to enhance knowledge and maintain standards.
What You Bring
- Previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, or facilities role — ideally within hospitality, commercial buildings, or a luxury environment.
- Strong practical skills with the ability to carry out a variety of general repair and maintenance tasks.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems (formal qualifications a plus but not essential).
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing tasks efficiently during busy operational periods.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality work and maintaining exceptional standards.
- A positive attitude and passion for maintaining a well‑presented and smoothly running hotel environment.
