Main duties of the job

The role of a Support Worker at Enable is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals and deliver positive person-centred outcomes for people with complex support needs. The position is based in Sileby, Leicestershire, where the organization operates a unique service supporting 9 people in supportive living, enabling them to live as independently as possible within their own homes and local community.

As a Support Worker, you will need to be enthusiastic, have great people skills, and a positive and proactive approach to your role. You will be responsible for supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health, and complex needs. Your day-to-day work will involve encouraging people to play active roles in their communities, supporting them with activities of daily living, effective communication, and promoting their quality of life. You will also be required to keep accurate records and report any changes in the health or circumstances of the service users to the management.

This is a unique service within Leicestershire supporting 9 people, where we offer supportive living, enabling people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and local community.

What is required from you?

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work
  • A full UK drivers licence

Encouraging people to play active roles in the communities in which they live, to encourage independence.

Supporting Activities of daily Living including social activities, personal care, routines, planning and preparation of meals and budgeting.

Communicating – effectively communicate using peoples chosen methods

Engaging – promoting and motivating people we support to enhance their quality of life

Specialising – supporting people who may need positive behavioural support approaches

Recording – keeping accurate records & reporting changes in health or circumstances of service users to management

Team player Working as part of a team, as well as being able to work using your own initiative.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work and a full UK driver’s license are required for this role.
