About the Role
PK Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to work within specialist SEND schools across Birmingham. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
You will be working closely with pupils with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, PMLD and challenging behaviour. The role may involve providing 1:1 support, assisting in small group settings, and helping to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working with SEND students (Autism, ADHD, PMLD, challenging behaviour)
- Experience supporting students on a 1:1 basis
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to adapt quickly within different classroom environments
- Good behaviour management skills
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two professional references
