Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands‑on experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs? This is an excellent opportunity to apply your knowledge of behaviour, development, and mental health in a rewarding school setting.

Milk Education is working with supportive primary schools across Leeds who are seeking passionate and resilient graduates to work as SEN Teaching Assistants, supporting pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech & language difficulties.

This role is ideal if you’re considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Counselling, or Youth Work.

Hours & Contract

  • Monday–Friday, 08:30–15:30
  • Full‑time roles available
  • Short‑term, long‑term, and permanent opportunities
  • Competitive daily pay (paid weekly)

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
  • Support children with behavioural, emotional, and social needs
  • Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour positively
  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging in lessons
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and emotional regulation

What We’re Looking For

  • A Psychology degree (2:2 or above)
  • A genuine interest in supporting children with SEN
  • Resilience, patience, and a proactive attitude
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Experience with young people (volunteering, tutoring, care, coaching, etc.) is beneficial but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
