Full-Time | Summer Term (Easter – July)
We’re looking for a SEN Classroom Support Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Bury for the summer term.
This is a great opportunity to support pupils who need a bit of extra help to feel confident, settled, and engaged in the classroom – and to be part of a team that genuinely cares about every child’s progress.
You’ll be supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism and communication difficulties, helping them get the most out of their school day.
Responsibilities
- Working 1:1 and with small groups to support learning
- Helping pupils stay focused, engaged, and confident in lessons
- Supporting children with Autism and communication needs
- Using positive and consistent behaviour strategies
- Creating a calm, structured environment where pupils feel safe
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider team
You’ll be a key part of helping pupils feel included, supported, and ready to learn.
What we’re looking for
- Have experience supporting primary-aged children with SEN
- Have worked with pupils with Autism or similar needs
- Feel confident supporting children who may show challenging behaviour
- Are naturally patient, caring, and resilient
- Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Have (or are willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS
