School Overview
Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary school in Middlesbrough. The school is an outstanding, split-site provision supporting pupils aged 4 to 11 with a wide range of learning needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). The school currently supports around 170 pupils across its two sites, offering a highly specialised, semi-formal curriculum delivered by a skilled and supportive team.
Role Summary
The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting children with additional needs and will bring either relevant experience or strong transferable skills to the role. Graduates are encouraged to apply. The normal working pattern is Monday‑Friday 8:30‑15:30, with flexibility to accommodate individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
- Apply background working in education or relevant experience.
- Support children with SEND or vulnerable individuals.
- Collaborate effectively with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver best support.
- Work alongside students, ensuring they are supported within learning and general classroom activities.
- Use personalised communication skills suited to different abilities.
