Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals and snacks, as and when required.Provide for special dietary requirements where necessary, and take into account the preferences of individual residents.
Responsibilities
- To ensure the efficient production of high-quality food within the available budget, whilst maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Plan menus in order to provide a balanced nutritious diet, making the best use of available fresh foods.
- Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer/fridge temperatures.
- Order stocks and check deliveries. Ensure stock rotation.
- Supervise and instruct kitchen staff in the use of all equipment and hygiene procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Enhanced Access NI to be completed by the successful candidate.
- Have a genuine commitment to working as part of a team within a caring environment.
- Availability to cover annual leave and absence for full-time Cook.
