Equans Sci-Tech is seeking to appoint a Mechanical Design Degree Apprentice to be based in Motherwell.

What you will deliver?
As a Mechanical Design Degree Apprentice, you will be required to undertake a variety of tasks ranging from assisting engineers, undertaking calculations, developing innovative technical solutions and coordinating detailed drawings, interlinking with a multi‑disciplinary business. You will also play a pivotal role within the design team in producing design‑based documentation, ensuring our projects meet the highest standards. The on‑job learning will assist in your personal development to become a qualified engineer.
Working alongside an experienced team the key tasks you will be involved in are:
- Assisting senior engineers in the design of mechanical building services systems
- Liaising with in‑house multi‑discipline departments for coordination
- Undertaking calculations
- Use of Hevacomp software
- Taking ownership and responsibility
- Keeping up with current standards and technologies
- Being aware of health and safety requirements in all aspects of the role
The apprenticeship will include a study day at Glasgow Caledonian University.
The following qualifications will be attained through this apprenticeship:
BEng (Hons) Engineering Design and Manufacture degree
What you will need:
- A minimum of a Higher B in Maths and 1 other Higher B plus 2 Higher C’s or equivalent qualifications.
- Good problem‑solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Preferred to have a driving licence and transport or be on the path to completing their test in the near future.
