SEN Teacher
We are seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher for a vibrant primary school in Hackney specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). The role involves creating a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment tailored to each student’s unique needs.
The School
An Ofsted‑rated outstanding special school for pupils aged 2‑11 years with severe and complex learning differences. Located in a purpose‑built new building in Hackney, the school offers indoor and outdoor environments that maximise learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised educational programmes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as necessary.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support development at home and in school.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD.
- Experience working in a primary education setting (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Other Details
Full‑time temporary‑to‑permanent role. Part‑time applicants will not be considered.
